Please join us for Meadow Day on Saturday, July 24 from 10 a.m. to noon hosted by the Town's Sustainability Committee. Festivities will take place at the Pollinator Meadow which is located on Adelphi Road - across from Toledo Road and the Hyattsville Community Center (south of Beechwood Road).
Meadow Day will feature perimeter meadow tour guides, a scavenger hunt with meadow seed packet prizes, a BUMBA Bowie/Upper Marlboro Beekeepers Association display, a UP Meadow Day Selfie Station and a group photo of all dressed in meadow costume attire —birds, flowers, bees, butterflies, etc. Please feel free to bring your own binoculars, magnifying glasses and guidebooks. Six stepping stools will be available to see into the meadow from the perimeter (we encourage walking around the meadow restoration area but not in it). Feel free to bring your own step stool, as well. Please leave your dog at home. Extra credit for bringing a reusable water bottle!
For more information, email Mary Sue Twohy at mstwohy@gmail.com. A rain date has been set for Saturday, August 7.
