The Council will meet this Tuesday evening, July 6. The open meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., at which time the Council will move immediately to go into closed session. A closed session has been called to begin at 6:30 p.m. to consider the acquisition of real property for a public purpose and matters directly related to the acquisition; and to consult with Counsel to obtain legal advice.
The open meeting will resume at 7:30 p.m. The Council meeting will be conducted entirely remotely with no in-person meeting attendance. Join both open meetings as noted in the Zoom and other connection information.

To install a 6’ fence at 4004 Van Buren Street
To install a 3’ fence at 4312 Sheridan Street
Special Utility Permit for Washington Gas to install 515’ of main, abandon 514’ of main, and replace 7 services and change over 3 services in the 4100 block of Van Buren Street.

Gas-powered leaf blowers -- Adoption of Legislative Resolution 21-O-04 to repealing and reenacting §7-104 “Noise” of the Code of Ordinances to prohibit use of gas-powered leaf blowers by January 1, 2023.
Resolution – Adoption of a resolution proclaiming gratitude to resident Loretta Vitale Saks for her service to our community.
Town Code Revision – Discussion of proposed changes to Chapters 1-4 of the Town Code.

Public Participation:
Participants who join the video/audio conference will be muted during the meeting except for Mayor, Council, and staff. Participants can turn their video on during the meeting, so we can all see each other, or can turn it off if they would rather. Participants will have the opportunity to speak during Public Comment - agenda item #8. During that time, all participants will be taken off mute. If you would like to comment, please state your name and Mayor Carey will call on you to speak. Public comments will be limited to three minutes.
Public comments or questions may also be made by emailing the Town Clerk Andrea Marcavitch at amarcavitch@upmd.org. All electronic comments must be submitted by 12 p.m. on July 6, 2021. Comments received will be read by the Town Clerk during public comment.
