An important aspect of community policing is interaction between town residents and their police department. This interaction provides the officers with a better sense of the residents needs and helps residents to develop a greater trust in the police, especially when community members have an opportunity to meet with the officers in a non-traditional setting, learn their names and exchange ideas and insights. On Thursday, February 28 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., the University Park Police will host a meet and greet with town residents at the Word of God Baptist Church located at 6513 Queens Chapel Road in University Park.
