[ARCHIVED] Captain McCully Announces Retirement

Captain Stancel (Wayne) McCully is set to retire from the Town on March 1, 2018 after 14 years of service. Captain McCully has served as a police officer for 46 years. He started his career as an officer with the Town of Bladensburg in 1972. He went on to work for the City of Hyattsville for over 20 years, where he retired in 2004. He began working for the University Park Police Department as a Sergeant in 2004 and earned his way to the ranking of Captain. He is well known throughout the local law enforcement community and over the years has made many contacts which have been invaluable to the University Park Police Department.

We are thankful to Captain McCully for his many years of dedicated and outstanding service to our community. We appreciate the high standard of professionalism, integrity and commitment he has demonstrated through his distinguished career in law enforcement. We wish him all the best in his retirement!
