CODE COMPLIANCE OFFICER:
The Town of University Park is looking for a Part-time Code Compliance Officer. The position requires the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. The primary duty hours will be Monday-Friday 9 am-1 pm. or 1 pm-5 pm. The successful candidate must ensure that all residential properties comply with all Town codes and ordinances regarding property maintenance, zoning, fire safety, and noise. In addition, an applicant must have excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and must successfully complete a pre-employment background investigation. The position is entry-level with related experience in Property Maintenance, Fire safety, or Criminal Justice. The selected applicant must achieve relevant certification during the twelve-month probation. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to those who possess code enforcement experience and certifications such as: International Code Council (ICC) Property Maintenance and Housing, MD Fire Service Personnel Qualifications Board certification as Fire Inspector I, II, and III and Community Noise Enforcement certification.
