On September 30, 2021, Corporal Shameka Graddy was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. She is a 13 year law enforcement professional and has served the University Park Police Department as a Community Police Officer; Field Training Officer; Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate (A.L.I.C.E.) Instructor; Police Tactical Bike Officer; and Maryland Notary. Sergeant Graddy has a heart for the community and has demonstrated her leadership and initiative in organizing and staffing nearly every community policing activity over the past three years.
Sergeant Graddy is a lifetime learner and has completed several law enforcement courses and is currently taking classes to complete her Associates of Arts degree. Many of you have seen her patrolling on her bicycle or walking her dog during the annual bring your dog to work day. Please join us in congratulating Sergeant Graddy on her promotion.
