[ARCHIVED] Public Works Employee Retires After 45 Years

On Friday, July 9, 2021, Joe Robinson retires as a Public Works employee after serving the Town for the last 45 years! Joe was first hired as a temp to drive the Town's leaf truck and was then hired permanently on December 3, 1976. He took on responsibilities including spreading cinders on icy roads with a shovel while sitting on the back of the Town's pickup truck and cutting the grass in the park by hand with a scythe.

The Town had an opportunity to thank him for his many years of service on Thursday, July 8, 2021. He expressed how grateful he was for the Town's first push mower and weed trimmer and most recently his shiny, red, #17 Kenworth truck with an AUTOMATIC transmission. Joe's family was also able to join us in celebration, including former Chief Wynnyk.

This is an end of an era as Joe is the last of the Robinson/Hall family to retire from the Town. Some residents will remember his brother Mike Robinson, who served the Town for 35 years, and his cousins Warren Hall who served 45 years and Butch (Kerry) Hall who served 51 years.Joe stands with his brother and two cousins

We are incredibly thankful for Joe's dedication and commitment to the Town over the years. Town staff certainly won't forget his big smile and his drive to win at horseshoes during annual staff picnics. We wish Joe all the best in his retirement. Thank you Joe and come back to visit us!
