The Town's Independence Day parade will begin on Sunday, July 4 at 1 p.m. at the top of Queens Chapel Road adjacent to the Town Hall. By tradition, the children's parade includes decorated bicycles, wagons, pets, parents and more. To watch, line Queens Chapel Road at 1 p.m. as we parade to Underwood Street and University Park Elementary School. This year the parade will include fire apparatus and personnel from the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department, horse-mounted officers from the M-NCPPC Police and possibly more.
Many thanks to Police Chief Harvey Baker and the University Park Police Department for pulling this together. Please come, just show up and join in; all are welcome to participate.
