The Town is excited to share photos of the Adelphi Field Meadow in full bloom with Blackeyed Susans, Lanceleaf Coreopsis, Rudbeckia and Spiderwort (purple) and more. The Town in partnership with the Dennis vanEngelsdorp Bee Lab at the University of Maryland and the Anacostia Watershed Society converted Adelphi field to a meadow to provide wildlife with food and shelter, including pollinators about two years ago. Signs will be installed soon educating the public about native plants and pollination - click the link below to get a preview of the signs.
Ernst Conversation Seed Company seeds were purchased and the seed mixes Northeast Showy Pollinator Mix and Little Bluestem Seed were planted.
