The Town of University Park continues to prepare for and monitor the novel Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak. The Town is following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and decisions from state and county health departments to ensure we are aware of the latest information and recommended actions for our area. To help reduce the risk of transmission, the CDC has recommended social distancing measures including reducing activities particularly for those with increased risk of several illness. The safety of our residents and staff are our foremost concern. We expect the Town to continue to operate and carry out essential services. However, we are making the following changes:
Effective March 16, 2020, the Town Hall is closed to all non-essential personnel until further notice. Instead of coming into the Town Hall, try this:
Use the Town website (www.upmd.org). Many Town services like, building and dumpster/pod permits, scheduling of special trash collections, and more can be done via our website (www.upmd.org) or by calling 301-927-4262. Please leave a message and staff will return your call.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
We regret to announce the suspension of the following services until further notice:
- Shuttle Bus services to Metro and Seniors & Disabled Persons’ Shuttle Bus services, effective at end of the last run on Wednesday, March 18;
- Closure of the Tot Lot and Wells Parkway Playground, beginning Thursday, March 19;
- Issuance of resident parking permits – the blue UP sticker; and
- Notary services.
The following will continue with modifications:
- Council meetings will be held virtually until further notice. Details on how residents can participate in these meetings will be forth coming. We are working on our plan of action;
- Monthly Committee meetings - Committee Chairs will make the decision whether they will meet. Please visit our website calendar for more information at www.upmd.org/caldendar; and
- Code compliance and rental inspections - outside only.
The following services will continue without disruption:
- Police patrols and emergency response; and
- Regular collections of refuse – trash, compost and yard waste, and recycling.

Prince Georges Public School Meal Distribution
Monday through Friday – any student, with or without a parent/guardian, may go to any one of these sites to pick up both meals and a snack between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Adults may not pick up meals for children. There will be school system staff in the cafeteria or parking lot, depending on weather, to distribute the meals. Meals can be found at the following schools:
