Ivy League

Please join us for the final Ivy League of 2021, one of UP's premier volunteer opportunities. We have always socially distanced and can easily continue to do so. We remove ivy from the town's trees to safeguard their health. Volunteers can participate for the entire two hours or any portion thereof. Please dress appropriately for November and bring a pair of hand clippers and a prying tool—a dandelion weeder or large screwdriver will both work. Please meet at the 9/11 Memorial, at the terminus of Wells Parkway between the playground and the footbridge. Community service forms will be signed if provided on site.

Ten Thousand Villages Craft Market & Bake Sale

Do your holiday shopping while supporting fair trade incomes for the diverse artisan cultures of Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. There will also be a bake sale where you can buy homemade baked goods, including bread, pies, cupcakes, cookies, and whoopie pies, among other items. The annual sale will be taking place in a modified format again this year: a tent sale offering items from the Ten Thousand Villages Alexandria store. Shop for items not available through the Ten Thousand Villages website, as well as annual sale favorites. Admission is free. Covid-19 safety protocols required, including masks and observing distancing.
