  2. Virtual Town Hall Forum on Community Policing

    On Monday, January 25 at 7 p.m., Town residents are invited to participate in a conversation on University Park Community Policing in a virtual Town Hall forum via Zoom. Police Chief Harvey Baker will share the University Park Police Department's Annual Report, discuss Police practices recommended in the County police reforms report, and answer questions from residents. The forum will be moderated by Town resident Melinda Moore. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and/or voice concerns during the forum. Residents can also email Chief Baker at hbaker@upmd.org in advance and submissions will be addressed during the forum. To join the Town Forum click the link provided "For more information".

  3. The Riversdale House Museum presents History at Home

    The Riversdale House Museum is offering three opportunities to bring history to life from the comfort of your very own living room! History at Home is a new series for homeschoolers that offers children ages 2-15 an opportunity to become history detectives. How did children learn and play at Riversdale 200 years ago? How can you use your senses to learn about the past? What does Riversdale have in common with an ancient Greek temple? Day of Play (Ages 7-11), January 26, 1-2:30 PM Sensing the Past (Ages 2-6), February 2, 10:30-11:30 AM The Classical World (Ages 10-15), February 16, 1-2:30 PM Join us in January and February to find out!   4. HHUP - The Drama of Aging by Attorney Julie Schejbal

    On Saturday, January 30, 2-3:30 pm, we'll have University Park resident and attorney Julie Schejbal talk about The Drama of Aging - our Town newsletter will have more info. Her talk will be co-sponsored by Helping Hands University Park and Hyattsville Aging in Place. RSVPs are requested for any of our programs so we can send out a Zoom link. Please note that we post past presentations on our website. Currently, you can hear talks by Dr. Stephanie Trifoglio on COVID-19, It's Complicated (esp. for seniors), Dr. Nadine Sahyoun on Healthy Eating for Healthy Aging, and Jennifer Brandi on Protecting Your Future: Estate Planning & Long-Term Care. The recordings are available either on our home page or on our Resources page. Volunteers are available to run errands, do grocery shopping and assist with minor repairs/computer/ electronics assistance
