  1. R.A.D Training

    December 9, 2019, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Word of God Baptist Church

    R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) System trains women in basic self-defense and offers them viable options when confronted with various threats of violence. The R.A.D. system is not a martial arts class. R.A.D. system educates women about defensive strategies using simple and effective tactics with a unique teaching methodology. This 4 week class is being hosted by University Park Police on November 18 and December 2, 9, 16 from 1-4 p.m. at The Word of God Baptist Church. The class is free, however space is limited. Please contact Ms. Elizabeth Gilead to register at egilead@upmd.org.

  3. UP Woman's Club 25th Annual Candlelight Holiday House Tour

    December 14, 2019, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM

    Five homeowners have volunteered to open their homes and share the rich diversity of the architecture in our Town for this, the 26th Annual UPWC Holiday House Tour. This community event is an annual UP Woman's Club Fundraiser to support college scholarships for local students. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance at Town Hall or by contacting Jean Pirovic at 301-520-8420 (cell) or via email at jean.pirovic@lnf.com. Payment can be made by check payable to UPWC or cash due at pick-up. Donations accepted.

  4. UP Woman's Club House Decorating Contest

    December 15, 2019, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

    All University Park and College Heights Drive residents are eligible or this annual contest. There's no need to enroll; the judges drive through all the streets and choose the winners. Decorations need to be done by the owners; 2018 winners are not eligible unless they have created new designs. Special recognition signs will be placed in winners' yards and winners will be listed in the Town newsletter. Categories are: Most unique/Most Original; Special House Front Decoration and Most Attractive Whole House Decorations.
