Monday night armed robbery, suspects have fledNeighbors –
Last night about 11:15 p.m. a resident was robbed at apparent gunpoint in the 4000 Block of Underwood Street. The suspects have left the area. Here is what we understand currently: - The Town resident was walking home from work about 11:15 p.m. when she noticed a dark gray-color sedan parked nearby and occupied by 4 subjects. As she passed by, she heard the car doors open and close, and started to walk faster towards her home.
- As she was trying to unlock her front door 2 suspects approached her from behind and demanded her backpack. Then one of the suspects walked up close to her and put what the victim believed was a gun to her head and again demanded her backpack. She gave them her backpack. She was not injured.
- The suspects were dressed in dark clothing and their faces were covered. The two suspects ran to the vehicle which was now stopped in front of her house and fled the scene.
- Detectives from Prince George’s County District 1 responded last night and will handle the investigation. They conducted a canvass of the area and will check back today.
