At the Council meeting on October 1, Council approved a proposal from Public Works Director Mickey Beall to collect trash once-per-week, a change from the twice-per-week schedule. This change will enable Public Work's personnel to focus on other needs throughout Town and continue the broader array of services, but with less expenditure for overtime during leaf-collection season and to avoid a tax increase. The Town estimates a savings of approximately $25,000 in overtime costs during leaf-collection season as a result of this change.
Beginning November 6, 2018, trash will be collected every Tuesday and recycling will now be collected every Friday. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact Public Work Director Mickey Beall via email or call Town Hall at 301-927-4262.
