Twice a year, the University Park Police joins law enforcement agencies nationwide to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s medicine cabinets. The Drug Take-Back Day allows the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications for destruction. It is also an opportunity to protect families from potential misuse and abuse of prescription and over-the-counter drugs, as well as protect the nation’s water supply. The DEA holds the National Drug Take-Back events in April and October each year.
The University Park Police and members of the CERT Team will collect unused pharmaceuticals at University Park Town Hall, 6724 Baltimore Avenue, University Park, MD. Notary services will be available during the event.
