The one-mile network of Magic Forest trails is the perfect venue for the season. Halloween. Bring a red flashlight or headlamp for a night walk. Your host has three extra red-headlamps for those who lack their own. Red lights are required to summon team spirits. If we are lucky, we will see one or more pair of shining eyes. Depending on the audience, there may be a discussion of local history, some of which may not be well-documented. There are trip hazards on the trails. Be careful. The landowners, Maryland National Capital Park & Planning and Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority have taken no measures to encourage visitors or to warrant or be responsible for their safety. Participate at your own risk. The tick season is pretty much over but we may encounter some lingering mosquitos. Long sleeves and pants are a good idea, as well as repellent on anything uncovered.
