Margaret "Peggy" Winton, Ward Six
6604 Wells Parkway
ward6@upmd.org
Peggy Winton and her husband, Jay, got to know University Park through
regular visits to his parents' house on Van Buren Street. When it was time
to "move up" from their DC cooperative apartment to a single-family
dwelling, Peggy and Jay began house hunting exclusively in University Park.
They have lived on Wells Parkway since 1994.
Peggy is the Director of Membership, Sales, & Marketing for AIIM
International, a non-profit technology association in Silver Spring, MD.
Previously, she was a business developer for Computer Sciences Corporation.
She holds a BA from Randolph-Macon Woman's College and an MS from the
University of Maryland.
Having served for over 10 years as a volunteer tutor/mentor for a variety of
area charities, Peggy is very interested in child protection and education.
She believes that University Park's property value is proportional to the
quality of the area's public education, and the safety of its citizens.
"University Park Elementary School, and our own police force are two
neighborhood resources that we must continue to support", says Peggy.
Bradley M. Carpenter, Ward Seven
4114 Woodberry Street

My family and I have lived in University Park since 1993. My son, Max, is a seventh grader at Hyattsville Middle School, and my daughter, Emma Jonte, is in Ms. Duffy's first grade class at University Park Elementary School. My wife, Donna Jonte, and I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area of California, but we lived in several other parts of the country before arriving at University Park. I'm an alumnus of San Carlos High School, UC Berkeley, the University of Virginia, and Stanford, and I studied welding at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. I work for NASA as the Lead Scientist in the Physical Sciences Division at NASA Headquarters.
